CHIEF UROLOGIST
He is the Chief Urologist and head of Endourology and Lithotripsy at R.G. Stone Urological Research Institute. A graduate and post graduate of Maulana Azad Medical College, did his Masters in General Surgery in 1985 and pursued Urology under able guidance of Prof. B.S. Rana. He has always been awarded gold medals for being the best student in various subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Surgery. He was best Medical graduate of the year 1980 and was awarded prestigious Dr. Dharam Vir Gold Medal. He was sponsored by Medical Council of India for doing Post Doctoral course (Ph.D.), at Moscow, where he worked in a 400 beded Institute of Urology which has a rigorous work in Endourology and Lithotripsy, besides all other subspecialities of Urology. He pursued research work on staghorn calculi which was presented at E.A.U. Conference held at Genoa, Italy in 1990. He has visited various international Centers of Urology and renal transplantation at Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, England and Scotland, besides many centers in Eastern European Countries. He has twenty-three years of experience of handling urological cases. He has presented more than 50 papers in national and international conferences and journals and has chaired many scientific sessions on Endourology, ESWL and Lasers. He has been with R.G. since 12 years and his commitment to Endourolgy, has made him handle complicated cases referred from other centers successfully. He has personally done and supervised treatment of more than 20,000 stone patients including 7500 ureterorenoscopies and 5400 PCNL’s. He has also done approximately 1000 Laser Prostatectomies with good results. He is involved in teaching graduates and post graduates in endourology and lithotripsy and has pioneered various innovations especially with Lasers in Urology. We wish him all the success.
